What is ProMoss™ and how does it work?

ProMoss™ is a plant-based water treatment made from select species of sphagnum moss that contains natural bio-polymers. These bio-polymers naturally conditions water to reduce scale, corrosion, and biofilm. ProMoss™ absorbs cations such as calcium and iron while interacting with surface films, helping keep systems cleaner with no or minimal chemical feed.

Where is ProMoss™ used?

Commonly in cooling towers and recirculating water systems across commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. Programs are sized to system volume and goals.

Can ProMoss™ replace all chemicals?

In most cooling tower applications, ProMoss™ replaces all traditional treatment chemicals. In other systems, it may at minimum reduce chemical demand and simplify programs. The treatment approach is tailored to water quality, metallurgy, heat load, system risk profile, customer goals, along with safety and compliance requirements.

What results should we expect?

Typical goals include cleaner heat-exchange surfaces, reduced deposition, biofilm disruption, the potential for higher tower cycles (water use reduction), and less chemical handling. Performance is verified via sampling, photos, and KPI tracking.

Does ProMoss™ support sustainability or LEED initiatives?

Yes. By eliminating or reducing chemical use and supporting water and energy efficiency, ProMoss™ aligns with sustainability objectives and may contribute to LEED-relevant outcomes (e.g., water efficiency, materials & resources).

Is it safe to handle and store?

ProMoss™ is plant-based and biodegradable. Standard industrial hygiene practices apply, but handling is generally simpler than bulk hazardous chemicals.
